The Drew County quorum court spent a large portion of Tuesday’s meeting discussing a proposed re-alignment of the county judge’s administrative assistant’s salary.
As shown in the first video, retired County Judge Damon Lampkin spoke on behalf of the current administrative assistant. Lampkin hired her into that position from the sanitation office, and stated he never approved a salary reduction.
During the budget year 2010–2011, The salary’s max pay was reduced from its earlier level, with the previous employee, who held the position.
The concern of some of the justices was based on if/how many of the duties of the earlier job description have since been moved to other offices in the courthouse.
If the increase is approved, it will raise the positions maximum earnings from $25,916 to $28,443.
