QC Approves Christmas Bonuses for County Employees

The Drew County Quorum Court held a called meeting, Thursday night, to approve a stipend, known to most folks as a Christmas Bonus, to the county employees.
Elected officials will receive $1,200. Full time employees will get $800. Part time employees get $500.
The vote was 6-2. The 2 “nay” votes were in favor of the stipends, but were concerned that the decision was made prior to the annual budget meetings.
County employees have not received a raise in 9 years.
