The state then asked Childs about his CDL training and responsibilities.
Childs answered another question by telling that he drove that truck everyday.
Next, the (overweight) load ticket that he’d accepted earlier that day was shown to him.
When asked, “If you’d been doing (daily) inspections, would you have noticed a leaking air hose?” Childs replied, “No.”
The testimony and defense was all aimed at placing the blame for the accident on the owners, Kelly and Son.
