A Proclamation acknowledging January 17, 2023 as the National Day of Racial Healing has been signed by Mayor Jason Akers.
The Proclamation encourages racial harmony, healing as well as kindness and understanding for our fellow citizens.
“As our community and society heals from the racial injustices of the past, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to one another to never allow the past to hinder our future. This proclamation serves as a reminder that our work in this area is not done”
