Regional Jail Plans Progressing – Video

The Drew County Quorum Court, Monday night, approved a resolution to agree for Judge Robert Akin’s membership in a “regional jail board.”
This is for the continuation of the proposed 4 county privately operated jail, that could possibly be built on HWY 278 West.
The board will consist of the 4 included county judges, and the sheriff of the country that jail is built in.
The prison is expected to serve Drew, Bradley, Cleveland and Lincoln Counties, house up to around 350 non-violent inmates.
