Possible COVID Exposure at City Hall; Masks Now Required to Enter Building

Mayor Paige Chase, Thursday afternoon, confirmed with MLive that Monticello City Hall is now requiring Covid masks to enter the building.
A fireman reported having a positive test for Covid, Wednesday night. On Tuesday night, one night before, he had attended a fireman training class, where he may have exposed other firefighters to the virus.
No one at City Hall has tested positive, nor have any other firefighters. The masks are only a safety precaution.

6. Arkansas Statutes 16-123-107: Free and Equal Access to Public Accommodations
Your business establishment is legally defined as a place of “public accommodation” and as such you
may not prohibit entry by discriminating against someone for their medical condition, disability or
religious views. If someone is unable or unwilling to wear a mask for one of those reasons you may
not prohibit their entry, nor may you file a charge of trespassing because of their legally protected
status. Just as you would not be able to deny entry to someone wearing a turban, you may not
deny entry to someone not wearing a mask. Having someone else shop for them, or requiring
curbside delivery is NOT a reasonable accommodation, as it denies the “full enjoyment and equal
access to facilities, services and accommodations,” as REQUIRED BY LAW.
Joe, does city government intend to maintain this as a request after Arkansas Act 1002 becomes law on July 27th?
