Pool Water Cleaning Update, Lifeguard Training, This Week
May 27th, 2020 by Joe BurgessThe city park pool was filled late last week, after having plumbing repairs and a new liner installed at a total cost of $194,000.
The discoloring of the pool seems to have occurred because the sand filters were not cleaned before filling the pool.
The algae in the pool is somewhat better in the Tuesday photo, as compared to the Sunday photo.
A Fort Smith company is on site, helping to get the pool back into a usable condition, before lifeguard training, later this week.
The long squeegee, shown in the photo, is being used to push the debris to the deep end, where it can be removed. (If you look, you can see the shallow end appears clean, compared to the deep end.)
Also being used, is an underwater, automatic vacuum cleaner that is removing pool bottom debris.
