Pirate to Play in Cowboys Stadium Game, Friday
January 11th, 2024 by Joe BurgessGregory “Greg” Berryman was nominated and accepted into the 2024 Dream All-American Bowl. After rigorous review from the committee, the top athletes were invited to play in the exclusive all-star game and participate in a weekend long event of developmental activities and performance on a nationwide platform. Dream All-American Bowl showcases the nation’s best high school and middle school athletes. Participation allows players to learn from some of the best teachers of the game, former NFL players, college and high school coaches. Committee leader and CEO of Dream Sports Group, Shannon Riley, says “the athletes that were selected have exemplified great leadership skills on and off the field, and have stood out as leading performers in each position. We believe that these are the next stars of the game, and we want to recognize them for their outstanding achievements and help them get to the next level.”
Gregory “The Wall” Berryman, packing a formidable 220 pounds of raw power, is an immovable mountain on the field. His low center of gravity and explosive power make him a wrecking ball in the trenches, plowing through offensive lines like they are mere speed bumps. His tenacity is unyielding. He engulfs ball carriers with an unrelenting grip, leaving them nowhere to escape. We are excited to see him display his talents in Arlington, Texas, at the Cowboys AT and T Stadium, on January 15th!” We received over 10,000 nominations and he is 1 of 360 student athletes from across the nation selected. Dream Sports Group congratulates him on this prestigious honor and once in a lifetime opportunity.
Greg Berryman is from Hamburg, Arkansas and is currently a sophomore at Drew Central High in Monticello, Arkansas and has attended Drew Central since kindergarten. He is part of the Drew Central Pirate football team coached by Larry White, which has made it to the Arkansas 3A state playoffs the past 2 years running. Greg is also part of the Drew Central Beta Club, Gifted and Talented, E-sports team and the DC after school program along with a program from Duke University called Duke TIP’S. He is the son of Terry and Dorthy Berryman Holland, the grandson of Laura and the late Paul Berryman; Loretta and the late Billie Joe Yates and Allen and Teena Holland all of Fountain Hill, Arkansas.
