Parolee Arrested for Cocaine & Weed by DCSO & ASP
July 3rd, 2014 by iPhoneDuring the late evening hours on June 27, Drew County Deputy James Slaughter arrived to Sobriety Check Point that had been set up by Troopers of the Arkansas State Police on Old Dermott Rd.
While in the area of the check point a maroon Ford Taurus passenger car pulled up. Law Enforcement Officers detected the odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle. The Deputy advised the driver of the vehicle to step out, a search of the vehicle was conducted and approximately 48 grams of a white powder like substance believed to be cocaine located in the console of the vehicle along with, a small amount of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, a set of digital scales.
The driver / owner of the vehicle was identified as Johnnifer Roston who is currently on parole out of Little Rock was arrested on the scene. Roston is on parole for prior Drug Related charges out of Chicot County. The Sheriff’s Office seized the vehicle and $791.00 from Roston.
Judge Don Glover conducted first appearance on Roston on Monday, June 30, 2014 and set his bond at $20,000 commercial. Roston currently has a hold placed against him by the Arkansas Parole and Probation Office out of Little Rock and is currently still in jail.
