As stated in the video, members of the committee, “just wanted to explore the options.” They plan to repair the old pool, as best as possible, “But wanted to get people inspired and dreaming about the future, and what Monticello could be.”
Mr. Carr and a pool specialist from ETC Engineering came to Monticello, at the City’s request around a month ago, to study the existing pool and its needed repairs.
During that conversation with Mayor David Anderson and parks commission member Sheila Maxwell, the discussion of “throwing good money in after bad“ or spending money on a new project arose, and about improving “quality of life issues.”
That conversation is what led to Monday night’s presentation of projects for consideration by the city.
