Congratulations to Maggie Hand for winning 1st place and a gold medal in the 2014 Skills Competition in Medical Math that was held this week in Hot Springs.

Maggie will compete at Nationals in Kansas in June.  Maggie is a Senior at Monticello High School. Maggie is the daughter of Stephanie Hill.

At 11:20 Sunday morning, a southbound Case backhoe being driven by Lake Village man, was rear ended by a southbound Volvo 18-wheeler, causing him to be the second big-rig related death inMcGehee since Friday.
