A state crime lab forensic expert was called to the stand at 9 am, Friday, in the 1st degree murder trial of Freddie Williams , in the death of Tangela Walton, on April 5, 2013.
A Watson Chapel ninth-grade defensive end, Josh Pierce, lined up for a defensive play during the first quarter of the Monticello at Watson Chapel game, Thursday night, and then collapsed as he got into position for the play.
Winchester Road, just east of the bottle Bartholomew Bridge at Winchester, has a 2 foot hole that has collapsed through the pavement.
An Arkansas State Police investigator was next to testify, mainly about the recovery of Ms. Walton’s remains, just 634 feet from Williams’ residence, at 3:30.

In the next 15 minute video (from Monday, April 15) Williams told officers that the victim had called him to pick her up in Warren, which he did.
At 2 pm, the defense showed a 30 minute video of Williams, made at the Monticello Police Dept. on April 10, with the addition of a State Police investigator.
Testimony began at 1 pm , with a detective from the Warren Police Dept., who had investigated Ms . Walton’s disappearance.
attorney Gary Potts took the podium at 11:10, describing the suspect and victims relationship and intimacy, previously and on the day of her accidental death by asphyxiation.
At 10:50, the prosecution began describing the victim’s last day, to the jury, including use of cellular tower locations and times, which stopped during the afternoon.
Court began at 9:00, with roll call, as the possible jurors were seated in order.
While members of First United Methodist Church were enjoying a Wednesday evening meal together, 4 juveniles allegedly stole the truck belong to one of them, from the church parking lot.
City Attorney Whit Barton addressed the City council, Tuesday evening, about the problem of creeks flooding in Monticello.
Mr. Barton stated he was asked last week whether the City can clean out ditches on private property. He responded that the answer is no, but under the right circumstances they can. If a creek or ditch is a significant part of the City’s drainage system, then it can be cleared by the City.
Tuesday, at noon, the driver of a Chevy Avalanche had left highway 425, driving toward Walmart.
As he entered the Walmart parking lot, he collided with a Pontiac Vibe, traveling from the mall parking lot behind the convenient store.

During the early morning hours, Saturday, a fire was called in at a local deer camp by camp members.
The Lacey-Ladelle Fire Department responded to the fire along with a Drew County Deputy. The fire was believed to be arson at the time because there was no electricity to the building due to it being turned off until hunting season.
A 43-year-old Monticello man lost his life around 5:25, Monday morning, in a two vehicle collision on HWY 425, near the Lincoln / Drew County line.

At their monthly meeting, Tuesday , the Monticello School Board was presented with updates on the various campus construction projects, including significant problems that will delay progress on several building projects, and could potentially cost the District a substantial sum of money.
The Area Agency on Aging has been awarded $30,000.00 through a Walmart Foundation grant for the Monticello Senior Center. The money will provide the center with a much-needed food service delivery vehicle and kitchen equipment.
