According to Prosecuting Attorney Thomas Deen, 2 local women are facing felony charges, following the death of an unborn infant, and the actions that followed.

Law enforcement officers from Ashley and Drew County gave their time and effort on Wednesday, May 22nd to participate in the Area 12 leg of the 2015 Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics Arkansas.
The Drew Central Elementary fourth grade students participated in an Arkansas Words Spelling Bee. This bee was a part of the Arkansas History Unit. The students spent a week practicing and learning to spell words like Arkansans, Ouachita River, & many more. These three students were the overall winners for fourth grade.

Missionary Shirley Vincent was born May 3, 1940 in Portland Arkansas to the late James and Callie Mae Nelson and passed on May 25, 2015. She was a member of Revival Center East, Dermott, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by, a brother, twin daughters , and a son. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley McCants and Elizabeth Marthel. 5 sons, Calvin Davis Sr., Robert Marshall Sr., Johnnie Davis, Rodney Marshall, Gene Marshall, one brother James Nelson,43 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.
Services were entrusted to Christian Brothers Funeral Home and were held May 28th at The Revival Center Church.

Governor Hutchinson visited Monticello Friday, May 22 to conclude his month-long Computer Science Tour. Students at Monticello High listened as the governor gave examples of how computer science impacts every arena of life from agriculture, to medical doctors and manufacturing.
