At approximately 11:35, Wednesday night, the Valero (Crackerbox) on Highway 425 S., across from UAM, was robbed.
The suspects were armed with a gun.

I have to share that I have a soft spot in my heart that grieves for the historic Jewish temple in McGehee, Arkansas. Several newspapers have carried stories about the history of the building. I just want to add the story of my personal relationship with the temple.
I’ve had some interesting conversations the past couple of weeks about “rolling stores” and all of the favorite treats found therein – many of which survive today. I thought you might be interested in some lists of “how far back” some of our favorite treats existed.
From The 1900s t0 the 1920s Baby Ruth, BB Bat Suckers, Beeman’s Gum, Bit-O-Honey, Butterfinger, Candy Cigarettes, Candy Corn, Caramel Creams, Charms, Charleston Chews, Cherry Mash, Chiclets, Clark bars, Cracker Jacks, Goo Goo Clusters, Heath bars, Dubble Bubble gum, Goobers, Lifesavers, Milk Duds, Milky Way, Mounds, Moon Pies, Mr. Goodbar, O. Memorial Day Weekend races
Allegedly, around midnight on the first Sunday night of 2016, Robert Mosher, age 22, was shot and killed by Demarcus Veasey, age 19.
This dog was found in Ladelle.

Early Monday morning, the Collins-Cominto Fire Dept. was paged out to assist the Dermott Fire Dept. with the homefire call, where 2 cars and a truck were also lost.
Judge Robert Akin wants to thank everyone that donated money to purchase rosebushes to plant around the ear memorial at the courthouse.
“We have had 14 donated so far, and are hoping for an additional 10.”
The cost for two rosebushes is $36, and the Town and Country Garden Club is overseeing this project. Read the rest of this entry »
The county courthouse is current undergoing “tuck point maintenance” and mortar repair, as is required on builing that age.
Also Judge Robert Akin was recently seen cleaning the front of the courthouse, in preparation for the Memorial Day service. (The photo was just too good to pass up.)
This week has been a busy and fun-filled week at Grand Manor!
On Monday, Support Stocking Revue, from Booneville, AR, came and taught line dancing and then performed a show.
On Tuesday morning, Rockin’ Stevie Lee came and put on a concert in the front lobby. We like to stay busy out here.
