We’ve all seen those TV commercials where Dodge will hook a pick-up to tractor trailer to show how much pulling power their trucks have.
Thursday, across from Walgreens at the intersection of 425 & 278, a log truck lost its driveshaft and was pulled by a Dodge truck down Gaines Street to Conley Street, escorted by MPD.
Although it wasn’t actually a Dodge commercial, it was interesting to watch.
At the January meeting of the Monticello Parks Commission, Logan Hancock of EFS Geotechnical presented a suggested mapping location of the city’s proposed disc golf course.
The proposed course would be built at the Harris Road end of Lake Monticello, near where the restrooms are located, after the area is cleared.
The overall image of the lake shows the location where the course could be built. The other image shows the possible disc golf holes, that were presented.
Monday morning, at 8:30, the driver of the Chevy Tahoe lost control of the vehicle in the snow and ice, as they were traveling north on Highway 425 near the Lincoln County line, coming to a stop after it rolled over.
DCSO responded to the scene. The driver was transported to DMH by SEEMS. The Tahoe was removed by Rangle Wrecker.
Friday afternoon, shortly after 4 PM, 2 pick-up trucks collided at the intersection of Highway 425 North and Barkada Road.
MPD and SEEMS responded, although no one was transported.
Rod’s Wrecker removed the Ford. The Dodge was parked at a nearby business, and removed by a toner.
In November, UAM announced that the first day of spring classes had been postponed and would begin on January 13, a week later than originally scheduled. This was also announced in conjunction with the decision to eliminate the week-long spring break for 2021 out of concern for travel-related exposure to COVID-19 mid-semester. The number of instructional days will remain the same.
Two members of the University of Arkansas at Monticello’s faculty and a student have been recognized with statewide honors by the Arkansas Psychological Association (ArPA). Read the rest of this entry »
