Around 9 PM, Wednesday evening, a Wilmar man was seriously wounded, when he was shot, near Johnson Street, in Wilmar.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a hospital, north of here, where his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
The sheriffs department is asking for any information the public may have about a potential suspect or vehicles in the area. Please call 367-6211, if you have any information.
Last Friday afternoon, shortly after 2:15 PM, Monticello and Selma fire departments responded to the report of a house, fire, on Highway 83 north.
No injuries were reported.

Drew Central Elementary, the Drew Central Preschool and the DC PTO continued the tradition of the “Cookies with Santa” event Friday, December 2, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Drew Central Multi-Purpose Building.
