Social Media Threat Made Against DCMS

Minutes after 6 AM, parents of drew Central middle school students received a phone call notifying them of a social media thread made against the school. Text messages were also sent out.
UAM To Offer $500 Scholarship for Pre-registration, April 17/18

University of Arkansas at Monticello fall 2023 new first-time freshmen and new transfer students will receive a $500 scholarship if they pre-register for fall 2023 classes on April 17 or April 18 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and attend UAM during the fall 2023 semester. Terms and conditions may apply.
In-person registration is recommended, but over-the-phone registration is also available.
Students must RSVP to reserve a time to pre-register for classes in order to be eligible for the scholarship. RSVP on the UAM Admissions webpage or here.
No program will take place during pre-registration. Students will be able to pre-register for classes and have the option to visit any office related to attending school in the fall. Parents and legal guardians are welcome.

Fastballs And Food Trucks At Seark Miracle League Field, Saturday April 15th, 11am

Fastballs and food trucks TOMORROW at 11am-1pm at the Miracle League Field at the Monticello Sports Complex!!! A few of our favorite food truck vendors will be out there during the miracle league game (first pitch 11am) and we hope you’ll come hungry and generous.
Each of vendors will have donation buckets to benefit the Miracle League. So c’mon out, watch some of best baseball, eat some great food, and support a worthy cause!
Food Truck/Vendors that will be there are Disadattato Italian Ice, The Pizza Trailer, K&S Eatz, Chillin’ N Grillin’, G.G. Sweeties, and Asumi Sushi, Wangz N Thangz, and the Miracle League Board will also have a tent set up to sell drinks and water.

Note To Parents About Sports Complex Playground Areas

Parents: We realize that the playground areas at the complex are very popular with your children, especially the Miracle League playground. These areas and playground equipment are being misused and safety has become an issue.1. All children should be supervised while playing in the playground areas. Do not leave your child to play unattended while you are watching a game at a softball or baseball field. These areas are “play at your own risk.”
2. Playground equipment should be used as intended. At no time should anyone be on top of the zipline tracks; only one person at a time should use the zipline seat/ride.
3. Cleats are not to be worn on the playground. Take these shoes off before entering the turf area.
4. Food, drinks, sunflower seeds, gum, silly string, balloons are not allowed on the playground.
5. Throw your trash away.
6. Pets are not allowed in any area of the sports complex, especially the playgrounds.
7. No smoking, vapes, tobacco, or alcoholic drinks allowed on complex property.
Please be responsible and respectful of the posted rules if you like to continue to be able to use these areas.
Drew Central Fourth Graders Participate in Program Celebrating Its 25th Year

The Monticello Rotary Club members are leaders in the community and serve as role models for students. Each week, members read a book to students and students interview the members using questions they wrote in advance. In addition, students received their own copy of THE BFG by Roald Dahl to explore examples of a master writer using figurative language techniques studied this year.
