Curley Jackson, the former Mayor of Wilmar and current Drew Central School Board member, has announced his intention to seek the position of State Representative for District 94, in the next political campaign, 2024/2025, as a Democrat.
District 94 covers parts of Drew, Bradley and Desha Counties in southeast Arkansas.
By law, most City of Monticello projects that are engineered are required to be bid on.
“In the past, many local contractors simply weren’t in the loop or were unfamiliar with the bid process for engineered City related work. It’s our job to familiarize them with procedures and make them aware of the opportunities so we can ensure our local businesses get a fair shot.”
The city currently has numerous projects either ongoing or in the design phase and will be put out to bid upon completion of the designs. One drainage project is currently out for bids.
“I believe we have talented local people who can perform the services and work on projects the city has planned for the future. If they win a bid, the money stays local as it should.”
Local contractors can access appropriate forms required for proper bid submission by visiting www.mce.us.com for Monticello related large project bids, as well as other engineered projects in other towns.

Pre-K – 5th Grade Completed
Hear ye, hear ye! Welcome, Keepers of the Kingdom!
We are engaged in an epic battle between two spiritual kingdoms for the hearts and minds of our youth. Every day, our kids are bombarded with lies about who they are and where their salvation comes from.
But we are not meant to fight this battle alone! God, the ruler of the good kingdom, has given his kingdom keepers spiritual armor to wear. With this VBS, your kids will learn how they can be part of God’s kingdom through salvation in his Son. And they will be equipped with the armor of God as they train to become Keepers of the Kingdom who stand strong in the battle for truth! Huzzah!
