One Man Protest at City Hall over Donated Money
April 21st, 2021 by Joe BurgessBart Gregory, a former “Monticello Citizen of the Year“ and the city’s biggest supporter of disc golf, held a one-man protest at City Hall, Tuesday.
As detailed in the interview below, Gregory personally went to local businesses, requesting donations be made, which were turned over to the city, to help fund a disc golf course at Lake Monticello.
A total of $9,125 has been raised, since August, 2019, which remains in city accounts, at this time.
The parks commission plans to have a disc golf course built at Lake Monticello, after the lake trail and bike area are completed.
Gregory contends that the disc golf baskets should be purchased now, and used on temporary courses at city parks, until they are moved to their permanent location at the lake.
The parks commission chairperson was invited to be interviewed or post a statement, but it hasn’t been received, yet.
