Non- City Sources Report Serious Water Shortage in Monticello/Drew County
February 20th, 2021 by Joe BurgessAt 10:15, Saturday morning, MLive received a phone call from a non-city source, very familiar with local water resources, reporting that the City of Monticello is currently searching for a major water leak, that is causing water resources to be seriously depleted. This also includes county water associations, supplied by the Monticello water system.
Residents of Monticello and Drew County are asked to conserve as much water as possible, including postponing washing clothes and taking showers until this situation is found and remedied.
Other Southeast Arkansas towns experiencing a severe water crisis include Arkansas City, no water at all, and Hamburg & Crossett, which are also asking residents to conserve water, as much as possible.
MLive will post updates, as this situation progresses.
