No Injury, No Damage in Boat Plant Fire
January 19th, 2016 by iPhoneAt approximately 9:30, Tuesday morning, the Monticello fire Department was dispatched to the report of a fire at the SeaArk Boat plant, located on Patton Street.
According to reports, the fire was contained to one workstation, and only involved aluminum shavings.
Water cannot be used to extinguish aluminum fires, so sand was used to extinguish the smoldering shavings.
No one was injured, and work resumed within an hour.
