National Guard Plans to Close Local Armory – Video
January 7th, 2016 by iPhoneThe Arkansas National Guard has informed Mayor Zack Tucker that it plans to close the Monticello armory in May.
The armories are in Prescott and Magnolia also are reportedly going to be closed. Tucker told members of the MEDC that local guardsmen are expected to train at the Warren armory.
Sources report that the armories in Prescott, Magnolia and Monticello were all built in the 1970s and are within 50 miles of newer facilities.
