Multiple DTF Arrests. & a $100,000 Bond
December 20th, 2013 by iPhoneAccording to Lt. Jason Akers of the Tenth Drug Task Force, agents arrested multiple suspects throughout the judicial district on various drug charges.
In an undercover operation in Dermott, Task Force Agents, assisted by Dermott Police, arrested Brandon Lawson, age 39, and Lawson’s wife, Shanna Brook Lawson, age 37, after an undercover operation resulted in Agents purchasing prescription narcotics from Brandon Lawson and methamphetamine from Shanna Brook Lawson at a business that the couple ran in Dermott.
Brandon Lawson faces charges of delivery of methamphetamine and delivery of schedule III narcotics charges. Shanna Brook Lawson faces one count of delivery of methamphetamine and simultaneous possession of drugs and a firearm. Brandon Lawson received a bond of $5,000 and Shanna Brook Lawson received a bond in the amount of $7,500.
A Monticello man was arrested by the Drug Task Force after Task Force Agents intercepted a phone call from Thomas Dale Sass, age 52, in which Sass was attempting to sell methamphetamine to what he thought was another dealer but was actually a Drug Task Force Agent. A Task Force Agent posed as the buyer on the phone and arranged a meeting with Sass to purchase the methamphetamine and upon Sass’ arrival, Task Force Agents took Sass in to custody after locating a substantial amount of methamphetamine in his possession. Sass was charged with Possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver. He received a bond in the amount of $25,000.
Another undercover investigation resulted in the arrest of two Monticello residents for prescription narcotics violations. Agents arrested Anita Brown, age 49 and James Thomas, age 54, both were charged with Delivery of a controlled substance, Schedule III. After their arrests, Agents seized a cell phone belonging to one of the suspects and found text messages where Dustin Musick, age 25, was attempting to purchase hydrocodone from Brown. Agents text Musick posing as Brown and and arranged a meeting. Agents met with Musick as he arrived to purchase the narcotics and arrested Musick for criminal attempt to possess a controlled substance, a class ‘A’ misdemeanor.
Task Force Agents also arrested Lance Ridgell, age 23, of Monticello for delivery of a controlled substance, schedule III. Ridgell was arrested as part of an undercover investigation in the Drew County area. Ridgell received a bond of $2,500.
In an investigation spanning Drew, Chicot and Desha counties, Task Force Agents made what Akers calls a “very significant” arrest for methamphetamine in Desha County. According to Akers, Agents executed a search warrant at the residence of Graham Pamplin, age 47, at his residence in Pickens, Arkansas. Pursuant to the search warrant, Agents located methamphetamine with an estimated street value of approximately $7,000.00, over $4,000.00 in cash as well as handguns and rifles. Agents also arrested Rebecca Knight, 47, Roxanne Scott, age 29 and Arthur Leon Walters, Jr., age 39. Scott and Walters were charged with possession of methamphetamine and simultaneous possession of drugs and a firearm, while Knight was charged with Possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver and simultaneous possession of drugs and a firearm and possession of a defaced firearm. Graham Pamplin was charged with Possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms and possession of a defaced firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia. Pamplin received a $100,000.00 bond while the rest of the suspects received a 5,000.00 bond.
A joint investigation between the Dermott Police Department and Task Force Agents resulted in the arrest of Arthur Robinson, age 56, of Dermott for (2) counts of delivery of cocaine. Robinson is currently being held on a parole hold.
Drug Task Force Agents also arrested Charlynn McCormick, age 28, of Crossett, Arkansas after McCormick attempted to pass an altered prescription at a local pharmacy. McCormick attempted to pass a prescription for Promethazine with Codeine after altering the amount to be dispensed from 4 to 16 ounces. She was charged with Attempted Drug Fraud and received a bond in the amount of $1,500.00
