December 22nd, 2021 by Joe Burgess
At 11:25 AM, Monticello Police, along with fire and rescue responded to a multi car collision at Highway 425 and Walmart Access Road.
MPD, MFD, DCSO, ASP, MASI and SEEMS were dispatched to the scene.
Nearby sources at the wreck indicate that the Honda Accord with Georgia tags had been pursued by an Arkansas State Trooper, on 425, north of Monticello; but we were told the Trooper had stopped pursuit, as the Honda neared Monticello city limits, for safety.
It appears the Honda did not slow much, as it continued southbound in front of Wendy’s, where it struck a northbound Toyota Corolla, which was turning west onto Walmart Access Road.
The Honda then struck a Dodge Ram pick up, that has stopped at the Walmart Access Road stop sign.
We were told that 4 were transported by SEEMS and MASI to Drew Memorial Hospital for medical treatment, none appearing to be life-threatening.
It is believed that a male and female occupant of the Georgia Honda Accord were taken into custody, by MPD.
Reggie’s, Rod’s and Rangel Wreckers removed the 3 vehicles.
