“Ms. MonticelloLive”, A Tribute
April 3rd, 2019 by iPhoneI usually try to keep life’s personal events off of MLive, but sometimes things are important enough that they should be shared with others.
This is one of those times.
Mary Sue Burgess, my wife of 25 years, went from my arms, into the arms of Jesus, Tuesday morning at 6:48.
Some folks knew her, but most didn’t, and she avoided public attention.
Sue was the quiet counter-balance that was usually able to keep me focused more than I would’ve ever been without her, both publicly and privately. Our differences blended to make me much stronger with her, than I ever could’ve been, without her.
Several stories/photos were posted, because she saw or realized things that I did not. Chances are, she had more affect on your daily news, than anyone ever knew (including her).
I am not saying that my personal loss is more important than anyone else who has lost a spouse, but today I just want to show appreciation to the woman who loved me and stood by me, through everything that life, business, family and health threw at us.
If you knew her, say a prayer of thanks to God, because she isn’t hurting anymore. If you didn’t know her, asked me for a “Sue story” sometime, I would love to tell you more about “Ms. MonticelloLive.”
Graveside services are today, 3 PM at Tillar cemetery.

Joe, I am so very sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this valley. May God give you peace and understanding during this time.
Sorry for your lose and sounds like she was your world. I pray you find peace and strength. Remember she’s always with you no matter how far away. I haven’t lost my wife but I lost my Dad almost 19 years ago and I still talk to him everyday through God. He was my world and it took me a long time to find true peace but anything is possible with God. God bless you and RIP Ms. MonticelloLive

Joe, I am sorry for your loss. You will be in my prayers.
Joe I’m so sorry for your loss.
Joe,
Thank you very much for this tribute to Sue…my little sister. I sometimes tell people if you want to imagine Sue, imagine a person who will love you unconditionally and be your biggest fan while giving you anything she has, expecting nothing in return. When our Mother, Mary Christian Rowe, passed away almost 20 years ago Sue replaced her as my biggest fan. Anytime I talked to her, which was not nearly enough, I left the conversation feeling blessed, loved, and looked up to. What I have come to realize now that she has gone on to her eternal home with GOD is that she was the strong one who loved and gave in the midst of the struggles life handed her at the end. I loved her very much and will miss her even more.
IN HIS LOVE,
Vernon Rowe,
Sue’s Big Brother
Jeremiah 29:11
Joe I would love to her a Sue story so sorry
Sue was a beautiful and generous soul. She cared deeply about people even though she stayed out of view. I met her face to face one time at our church, but I felt like she had been a life long friend. Rest in Jesus, Sweet Sue.
I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers for comfort and peace.
Joe, Steve and I are so very sorry for your loss. May God wrap his arms around you and your family and give you peace
Praying for you Joe! The LORD comforts the broken-hearted.
Susie and I were the last females between my mom and hers. They were sisters, we were cousuns. She was like a sister. She could see the truth in a situation, I always wore rose colored glasses. She had a heart of gold if you had a need. No telling how many times she told Jo to donate or give money to someone in need in Monticello. I will miss you so much. The good news is that you’re so many people that you have been missing.
I love and like you always said, I’ll talk to you later.
I’m sorry. I wouldn’t wish that pain on anyone. This is a lovely tribute. You’re in my thoughts.
