MPD Receives $32,773 in Grant Funding
December 7th, 2022 by Joe BurgessAccording to Monticello Police Chief Jason Akers, the City of Monticello has received a grant for $32,773.38 from the Arkansas Department of Public Safety for the purchase of new Kevlar vests and vest carriers for the entire Monticello Police Department.
Officers vests require periodic replacement after a period of years of use due to wear and tear and while critical for officer safety, are required by MPD’s department policy for patrol officers.
We are grateful to the Department of Public Safety for this funding and their support of Monticello and our Officers. Grants received by the City of Monticello to obtain large ticket items such as vests allow us to save our taxpayer money or utilize it for other projects.
