MPD Hires Hines as New Detective

Monticello Police Chief Jason Akers is pleased to announce the hiring of Detective Ben Hines.
Detective Hines is the first law enforcement employee hired under new police department policy that requires applicants to perform a physical fitness test prior to gaining employment. The test involves a half mile run, immediately followed by push ups, sit ups and carrying extra weight 100 yards.
Detective Hines is a 22 year law enforcement veteran, who is a certified crime scene technician and served as a K9 handler, Special Agent with the 10th Drug Task Force.
