The Monticello Police Department and the Drew County Sheriff’s Office are working jointly on several car break-ins during the early morning, Friday.
Monticello Police Dispatch received a call from one of the victims that a white Dodge Charger was seen in their yard and two people broke into one of their vehicles.
Officers searched the area until Deputy Dan Garrison located a car matching the description. The car had an expired temporary tag and was stopped on hwy 425 N., near the post office.
Deputy Garrison and MPD officers made contact with four male subjects from Little Rock inside the car.
During the investigation, officers located several driver’s licenses, social security cards and debit/credit cards belonging to families in the area of the initial call. At this time, 10 victims have come forward or were contacted by police about the thefts.
Some of the victim’s property was from other counties in Arkansas and these agencies have been contacted. As of now, approximately 9 counties believe the suspects arrested in Monticello are the same suspects in various crimes in their community’s.
Their believed crimes include: Breaking and Entering, Theft of Property, Commercial Burglary, Fraudulent use of a credit card
