More Witnesses Testify

From then until 1:45, when the state rested other witnesses, including MPD investigator Kenny Cox testified. Cox focused on evidence from the scene, including the gun, clothing and blood.
The defense’s case started next, with the Mainline doctor, the jail administrator (both to prove Riley’s leg injury).
Other eyewitnesses were called, who described basically the same descriptions, but with variations that really didn’t stand out as contradictory to earlier testimony. Examples were one didn’t see Riley’s knife; another described Riley as staying in the car longer, and loaning his cell phone to someone.
The one potentially major difference was when it was testified that Martin threw the first punch.
Prosecutor Frank Spain did well in destroying their testimony, life when Riley’s roommate admitted that she had lied about the gun being thrown in the creek.
