Monticello Mayhem Win Maumelle Memorial, in First Tournament with Current Roster
September 25th, 2020 by Joe BurgessMonticello Mayhem, a 10U fastpitch softball team, played its first tournament with the current roster on Saturday, in the 2nd annual Bryan Bennett Memorial Classic in Maumelle.
Results: Tournament Champs. The championship game ended at 12:45 AM, Sunday morning, where they defeated Tulsa Elite of Little Rock in the final game by score of 2 to 1.
Outstanding performances include: Mary Richie Groves had the game-winning hit to score Lexi Bowman in a thrilling extra-inning 2-1 victory over Arkansas Thunder from Benton in game 1.
Grace Ferguson was very solid behind the plate for every inning of the 4 games that the Mayham played.
Emmy Chambers was outstanding on the mound. She pitched 3 complete games, including a no-hitter, only gave up 4 runs total over the 3 games she pitched. Emmy had 33 strikeouts in the 3 games pitched, including 14 in the no-hitter.
