Emma Pace. The Hot Shot division overall solo winner.
Eight students from Monticello Dance Academy attended and competed at a dance convention and competition on December 2-3 in Little Rock.
The students attended Force Dance Tour and took classes from famous choreographers from all over the country! They also performed in the competition part of the convention and received an adjudicated score from these choreographers. The following are the routines performed and the awards they received.
Emma Pace performed a jazz solo and received a Gold; she also won 1st place overall in the Hot Shot Solo division.
McKinzie Adcock performed her jazz routine and got a Gold, the Outstanding Stage Presence Award, and 9th overall in the Mini Solo Division.
Olivia Wilson performed her contemporary routine and got a High Silver.
Salute (a tap trio consisting of Keller Bigham, Karissa Morman, and Caroline Groves) received a Gold, the Superior Style Award, and were one of only three routines chosen for the Impact award. They got to perform their routine again at the closing of the show the next day and will premier on the company’s promo video. They won 1st overall in the Teen Duet/Trio Division.
Rather Be (a tap duet consisting of Keller Bigham and Karissa Morman) received a High Silver and 2nd overall in the Teen/Trio Division.
Can’t Hold Us (a tap duet consisting of Anna Boren and Jalyn Powell) received a Silver and 4th overall in the Teen/Trio Division.
Keller Bigham performed her tap solo and got a Gold and 8th overall in the Teen Solo Division.
Karissa Morman performed her tap solo and got a Gold and 6th overall the Teen Solo Division.
Anna Boren performed her tap solo and got a Gold and 8th overall in the Senior Solo Division.
MDA is owned and operated by Allison Neill. These students are under her instruction as well as Toni Findley. One of these routines had a guest choreographer, Kyle Plunkett.
