MMS 8th grader Competes in National Archery Competition
May 13th, 2013 by SubmittedHunter Lane, an 8th grader at Monticello Middle School competed in Nationals for the 2013 NASP (National Archery in the Schools) program, a national competition held at Louisville, KY Expo Center.
The MMS archery team competed at Hot Springs, in March for the state competition. Hunter placed 3rd overall in the AR State shoot and was able to attend the national archery shoot, due to his achievement on the state level.
At nationals, he shot a score of 278 and ranked 136 in his middle school division, 82 in his grade rank and 505 overall rank out of 5379 archers.
Hunter’s family would also like to thank his archery teacher/coach, Mrs. Sherry Knight, MMS, and his family and friends for their support. Also, a special thanks to Nolan & Tina Martin.
