Search for Missing Man Now in 2nd Week

January 14th, 2015 by

ASP helicopterBarry Harmon
The Drew County Sherrifs department is continuing their search for  Barry Harmon.

Harmon is a white male, around 35 years old, 5 feet 10 inches, and has red hair, He last seen January 6, in the Coleman area, when he went into the woods, apparently hunting.

Over the past week, including through the cold weekend weather and rain, the Drew County Sheriff’s Dept. has searched, ssisted by the Arkansas State Police and their helicopter, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and search dog, Drew County OEM, and search volunteers from several counties.  ADC also provided searcher on horses, earlier this week.

Searchers seem to be “hoping for the best, but aware of the worst possible outcome,” as the search is gradually changing for a “rescue” to the “recovery” mission, as a cadaver dog, has now being used.

Searchers have found a spent shotgun shell, a partial pack of cigaretts, and footprints that are believed to Harmon’s.

Please contact 870-36 7-6211, if you have seen or have any information on the whereabouts of this missing person.

Barry has been missing for way to long! prayers needed in his finding, Barry has four children, whom I love dearly, I am the mother of three of his children please contact the sheriff office if u have any information regarding his whereabouts

  13. KR says:

Yes yes, I hope he can be found alive for sure !!While the “dangerous wild animal” that KATV said is very unlikely unless the animal wants clothes, gun, and all…My first thoughts would be possible wells, old sisterns in the area that may be present, or either he walked up on someone/something going on at the wrong time not ruling out foul play. Hope it turns out better than searchers are expecting. Prayers for the family!
