Midnight Rollover at Dead Man’s Curve Medflights Michigan Man to UAMS
May 6th, 2016 by Joe Burgess
Around midnight, Friday morning, the driver of this Jeep SUV lost control of his vehicle, in Dead Man’s Curve, on HWY 278 E. of Monticello.
When the vehicle left the road, entering the tree line, it could not be seen from the roadway, as shown in the bottom photo.
Monticello Fire and Rescue were paged out to extricate the driver from the mangled vehicle, after the passenger was able to climb out and flag down a passing motorist.
Arkansas State Police worked the accident, assisted by Drew County Sheriffs deputies and OEM.
SEEMS and MASI both responded, and transported the more seriously injured victim to the airport, to be picked up by medflight, and transferred to UAMS.
Both the driver and passenger in the jeep were originally from Michigan, having moved to McGehee earlier this year. The passenger was transported to Drew Memorial Hospital.
Rods Wrecker removed the jeep.
