MHS Security Officer – DC Fire Alarms – Update
May 7th, 2013 by Joe BurgessMonticello schools are continuing to work toward adding a school resource officer to their staff. The topic was thoroughly discussed at their March boad meeting.
Monticello Police are also involved in the project. At a recent MEDC meeting, it was announced that the MEDC staff is working to locate a grant to help with the funding for this potential position. All are hoping for this to be a full-time, certified police officer for the high school, who will also do walk-throughs on the other campuses.
Drew Central school recent accepted bids for a new fire alarm system. the next step will be to select one of the bids. A called meeting to approve the bid may be called, or it could be decided at the next board meeting on May 16.
