Meth Ring Busted by Law Enforcement, “Ice” Recovered
April 14th, 2010 by Joe BurgessAccording to Lt. Jason Akers of the 10th Drug Task Force, a Central Arkansas based methamphetamine trafficking operation was shut down by Task Force Agents this past week.
According to Akers, an investigation into methaphetamine traffickers from Little Rock, Arkansas that began in Monticello resulted in the arrest of several suspects believed to be involved in bringing the drug to Bradley, Drew and other counties throughout the State.
Shawn Parker, age 30, of Romance, Arkansas along with Leopold Rash, age 40, of Warren were arrested in Drew County after Task Force Agents arrested them while in possession of an estimated $6,000-$7,000 worth of ‘Ice’ methaphetamine. A 2000 model Toyota Camry used to transport the methaphetamine was also seized.
After Parker and Rash were arrested, Agents and Bradley County Deputies, along with Monticello Police, executed a search warrant at Rash’s Bradley County residence and arrested Shaun McGehee, age 27, of Benton, and Kasie Bufford, age 19 of Little Rock. Agents located illegally possessed firearms, prescription narcotics, cell phones used to arrange drug transactions, suspected methaphetamine and related paraphernalia. A 2000 model Acura car was also seized that Task Force Agents believed was used to transport methaphetamine throughout the State by McGehee and Parker
Shawn Parker faces charges of Possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver, over 28 grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a controlled substance (Schedule 3 and 4). Parker has a bond of $250,000. Parker is also wanted on Absconder Warrants from the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections.
Leopold Rash faces charges of Possession of methaphetamine with the intent to deliver over 28 grams, Possession of drug paraphernalia and Maintaining a Drug Premises. Rash has received a bond of $100,000.

McGehee has received a bond of $250,000. McGehee is also wanted on Absconder warrants from the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections.
Kasie Bufford faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bufford was released on her own recognazance
According to Akers, more local arrests are pending in both Bradley and Drew Counties as well as throughout the State because of the investigation. Akers said the Task Force was working with other Agencies throughout the State as the investigation continues into other jurisdictions.
Akers calls the arrest of Parker and McGehee a ‘significant hit’ to methamphetamine trafficking in Bradley and Drew Counties and the assistance of the Monticello Police Department and the Bradley County Sheriff’s Department was tremendously helpful in the case.

WOW now that a drug bust worthy of reporting. I live in Monticello and very thankful for DTF & Monticello Police Dept. As I read this article I think back when these 2 agencies do a drug bust they always come out with a substantial amount of drugs that is taken off the street. Their arrest rate along with the amount of drugs they get shows they put a lot of time into getting ready before executing a search warrant. Thanks to DTF & MPD for all the hours/ time you each invest in trying to make Monticello a safer place for all of us. You are appreciated…
Finally!!! As you can see there are drugs in more areas than the black communities.
Jason, thanks I know that my officers and I enjoyed it. Anything else we can do to help with the problem, just let us know. Ray and Brad; great job. We’re very proud of your performance. Hope to work with DTF again very soon.

It doesn’t matter if it is a “black” or white or green or purple community in this case. The drugs taken off the streets of our community is what this is about and everyone should be proud of that. I no I am. Good job
Yes, I KNOW I am glad some drugs were taken off the streets.
