Meth Man Tries to Kick in Door of A Home at 2am Saturday (Cop’s Home)
April 21st, 2015 by iPhoneAround 2 AM, Saturday morning, a Monticello family was awakened to the sound of a local man attempting to kick in the door to their home.
The husband got his pistol for protection, and yelled for the man to stop or he would be shot.
Monticello Police quickly responded and took the man into custody.
In court, Monday, Chris Reed, age 39, admitted to Judge Sara Hartness that he knew it was a police officer’s residence, and that he knew he could have been shot by the officer.
Reed said that he had been “strung out on meth” and did not remember anything.
He will likely be charged with attempted residential burglary, a class C felony.
His bond was set at $10,000.
At the time of the attempted break-in, there was a marked patrol car ( with blue lights on top) parked in the driveway of the residence.
