MEDC Responds at MCBG Meeting – Videos
July 11th, 2016 by Joe Burgess
Leaders of the MEDC attended Saturday’s public meeting of the Monticello Citizens for Better Government meeting, in their effort to provide their views and explanation of the recent opinions expressed by the MCBG.
These videos contain the majority of the meeting; however the land use section was lost in production.
It dealt with the process of nuisance lots being reported, notified, condemned, approved by city council, liens places against the property, land being forfeited for sale, and then purchased by the MEDC.
Once again, neither side convinced the other side of anything, but both views were well stated.
I have a question I live in the county within 5 miles of our city limits. I don’t get to vote on any city issues for the mayor or anyone. How is that fair to anyone in the county that don’t get to vote on any city changes to the county living.
