McGehee Manhunt Captures Shooting Suspect (Not a Jail Escapee)

Octavious “OC” Smith, 40, of Little Rock was arrested by Arkansas State Troopers outside a McGehee farm implement dealership Saturday afternoon.
The arrest occurred in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Jefferson County last week.
Joey R. Stark, 48, of Kellerton, Iowa, a commercial truck driver, was shot by a passing motorist about 9:30 AM, Friday.
The incident occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 530 between the 41 – 42 mile marker. Stark was transported to a Pine Bluff hospital with non-life threatening wounds to his legs.
Smith was arraigned Monday and is charged with committing a terroristic act (Class Y felony), possession of firearms by certain persons (Class B felony) and battery (first degree, Class Y felony). He is being held at the Jefferson County Detention Center under a $75,000 bond, pending a parole violation hearing.
