Man Arrested For Stealing Wallet From Gas Station
June 9th, 2012 by Joe BurgessAccording to Sheriff Mark Gober, the Drew County Sheriff’s Department received a call on Wednesday, May 30th, to go to J-Birds in Wilmar to speak to a customer about a missing wallet. The customer told the deputy that he thought he thinks he had dropped his wallet in the parking lot of J-Birds but could not find it. Video surveillance from the store confirmed that the customer did, in fact, drop his wallet. The video also showed that a gold Cadillac pulled up beside the wallet in the parking lot where the driver got out of the car, picked up the wallet, went inside the store, and then left the gas station.
The driver, who was identified as Milton Remley, age 60 of Monticello, was arrested and booked into the Drew County Detention Facility where he was charged with theft greater than $1,000. Remley was taken for a first appearance before Circuit Judge Bynum Gibson where his bond was set at $2,000. He has since bonded out of jail.

This is an Assault to us all. If he took the wallet and it contained over 1,000 dollars, shouldn’t his bail be worth more than twice that amount? :(
