Man Arrested for Narcotics Possession at Kindergarten Graduation
May 23rd, 2022 by Joe BurgessJason William Carson, age 33, was arrested, Friday, during kindergarten graduation at a local school after witnesses observed him in a school bathroom snorting suspected narcotics.
A Drug Task Force Agent was present at the school and responded, detaining Carson. A search found Carson was in possession of methamphetamine, hydrocodone, klonopin, suboxone and drug paraphernalia. Carson was also found with stolen wallet.
A straw believed to have been used to snort narcotics was found in the bathroom stall and was recovered by law enforcement on scene.
Carson has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of hydrocodone (schedule 2), possession of klonopin (schedule 4), possession of drug paraphernalia and Endangering the Welfare of a minor. Carson will also be charged with theft of property for the stolen wallet.
First appearance and bond hearing are being arranged at the time of this release.
MPD Chief Jason Akers thanks the Drug Task Force for their quick response in recovering the narcotics and securing the scene. MPD Officers took Carson in to custody and transported him to the Ashley County Jail where jail bed space was available.
