Update on “Lost & Found – Car”
May 13th, 2019 by iPhoneDuring the heavy rain, flooding, and water over running area roadways, the driver of this Ford mustang lost control of their vehicle north east of Garnett Rd., early Thursday morning, after a large portion of Highway 83 had been closed due to flooding.
Since the original post, we have found out that a Drew County Deputy responded around 5:30, to the accident, finding the driver standing on top of the submerged mustang.
He used a makeshift rope device to pull the driver to safety, before assisting to get him to DMH for medical treatment.
During the day, around 30 vehicles were involved in minor accidents or flooding accidents.
During the next shift, around 10 AM, the vehicle was reported and the search for it began, before it was realized that the incident had been taken care of several hours earlier.
Once again, very few people realize the dedication that our law officers and first responders show during events like this rainstorm, or how many times they put themselves at risk, to help citizens.
