Log from Log Truck Impaled Into GMC
August 21st, 2019 by iPhoneMinutes before 8 AM, Wednesday morning, Monticello Police dispatch received reports of a log from the back of a loaded log truck, smashing into the cab of a GMC Envoy, in front of the Highway 425 N. Crackerbox/Valero.
Monticello. Police, ASP, and ARDOT quickly responded, finding the log broken off inside of the SUV.
MASI arrived, and treated the child passenger that was involved in the accident, who left the scene, without being transported to the hospital.
Reports from the scene indicate that both the log truck and the envoy were traveling south, when the loaded truck slowed to turn in at the convenient store.
Reggie’s towing removed the GMC.

Then the log truck did not impale the SUV. The suv either pulled too close and was hit while the truck was turning or the SUV ran into the log impaling themselves. Wording makes a huge difference in perception as to the trucker being at fault. You MUST give long loads plenty of room and you MUST watch for brake lights and turn signals.
