Local Woman Arrested for Filing False Stolen Car Report
October 9th, 2013 by Joe BurgessJust before midnight Thursday, Monticello dispatch received the 911 phone call reporting a stolen car on North Gabbert St.
The car, The 2001 Acura, was reported to be stolen by particular person, who the complainant named.
MPD, DTF, and a State Trooper quickly found the vehicle along, with the alleged suspect.
When the man was approached by police, he was cooperative and explained that the vehicle was his grandmothers. His grandmother was in the hospital, so he and his brother were using the car with permission, which was then confirm other sources.
When asked why the car had been reported stolen, he replied that he had given Brittany Block a ride and they gotten into an argument. He added that she then threatened to call the cops on him.
When MPD officers returned to Ms. Block’s residence, she argued and struggled against police officers, before being arrested for Filing a False Police Report and Resisting Arrest.
Brittany Block, age 24, was taken to CDF, and later released.
