Local Suicide Shocks Community

MLive as verified that the Monticello Police Department is investigating an apparent suicide outside of the local hospital.
Monticello Police Chief Jason Akers stated that officers responded to the hospital concerning a possible suicide today, and believes that there is no reason to suspect any criminal activity.
Akers described the situation sad and unfortunate.
No information is available in reference to the victim except, that he was an elderly white male.
It is our policy to limit coverage of suicide deaths, but due to the public location, felt it appropriate try to to reduce potential related rumors.
