Local Republican Parties Decline to Enter Candidate in Special 2 Month Election
August 3rd, 2016 by iPhoneThe Ashley and Drew County Republican Committees would like to take this opportunity to offer our condolences to the family of Representative Sheilla Lampkin. Her years of service in her community and state were an inspiration to us all.
The committees have also decided to forego a District Convention for the purpose of filing a candidate to fill the remainder of Representative Sheilla Lampkins 2016 term. Filling this vacant seat for a two month period would only cost the taxpayers money and we see no need to have someone in this position when the legislature will not be in session and there will be no business being conducted.

Mr. Doyle Webb,
I hereby request under the RPA Rules Article II Section 2:F, namely,
“The final authority within the County shall be the Biennial County Convention and the Biennial State Convention. The County Convention is deemed to have delegated interim authority to the County Committee necessary to achieve the purpose and objectives of the County Committee and the Republican Party of Arkansas.”
that due to the failure of the Drew and Ashley Counties Republican Committees and their chairs to comply with Governor Asa Hutchinson’s Proclamation dated July 27, 2016, that the Arkansas Republican Party State Convention accept its authority under Article II Section 2:F and hold a delegate vote at its 2016 State Convention to consider Republican nominee/candidate Jim A. Hall as the Republican nominee for the House District 9 Special Election to fill the vacancy left by the death of Representative Sheila Lampkin. It should be noted that Jim A. Hall is already the Republican nominee for Arkansas House District 9 for the 2016 General Election and that both the special and general elections are being held on November 8, 2016.
Respectively,
Jim A. Hall
Republican Nominee
For Arkansas State Representative District 9
