Local Man Killed in Fatal Car Crash

An 82-year-old Monticello man lost his life, around 7:30 AM, Friday morning in a 2 vehicle collision on Highway 425 N., at its intersection with Hoover Lane.
Monticello Police Department are investigating the accident, where Huey Barnett, attempted to enter the highway, from the east, in a Ford Freestyle van, in front of a northbound Jeep Wrangler, when the accident occurred.
Monticello Fire and Rescue were paged to the crash, but bystanders had already removed Mr. Barnett from his vehicle, upon their arrival.
MASI transorted the driver of the Jeep to Pine Bluff. SEEMS exported Mr. Barnett to Drew Memorial, where he was pronounced deceased, from internal injuries
