Local Man Gets $250,000 Bond for First Degree Battery Charge Involving Month Old Child

The Monticello Police Department, in collaboration with the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division, is actively investigating a deeply distressing domestic abuse incident involving a 1-month-old infant and the child’s mother.
On March 21st, MPD officers responded to a call regarding a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, they discovered a 1-month-old infant in critical condition, having sustained a possible brain injury as a result of the incident.
The Monticello Police Department and the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division are collaborating closely to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. The agencies are committed to bringing those responsible for this egregious act to justice and ensuring the safety of vulnerable individuals within the community.
In the meantime, the infant is receiving medical care and support, and efforts are being made to provide all necessary assistance to the affected family during this difficult time.
