Local Man Accidentally Shot, Friday Morning
June 11th, 2011 by Joe BurgessAround 5:30, Friday morning, a Drew County Sheriff’s deputy and SEEMS ambulance responded to a home on HWY 83 North, in response to the report of a man accidentally shooting himself in the shoulder with a rifle.
James A. Harmon, age 36, was transported to Drew Memorial Hospital, after he was struck by a fired round shot from a Remington 22 cal. rifle, he was looking at.
The bullet appeared to have entered and exited Harmon’s upper right shoulder

i had a shot gun go off when i was cleaning it. i didn’t know there was a bullet stuck in the chamber thank god i had it pointed at the ceiling or i wouldve shot myself instead of the roof. it happens more than you think. its common sense if its an accident then its an accident. thank goodness hes ok and not dead
Accidents happen but aint it common sense not to point a gun at your body no matter what?

reguardless how it happened freak accidents happen all the time just keep your ignorace to yourselves an say a prayer for the family just saying this could be your child or your lived one so show a lil respect for people an their feelings and the world would be a better place!!!

It was a good clean wound, hole from upper right chest coming out the right shoulder blade. Thank you all who prayed for me during this time. And to anyone that thinks they can’t be accidentally shot, your crazy. A gun can be leaning against something and fall over and discharge, as was with the case with me. Stuff happens, nuff said.
