This town is going to lose a lot more people than it already has. This town is becomming like a prison they are telling us what kind and how many animals to have.
Wow, I. Didn’t know there was a law for that.. least she loves animals.
Although I do think 13 is too many, as long as they weren’t harassing others and as long as they were being taken care of, what does it matter. I do, however, understand if they were a nuisance of any kind.
As far as my opinion, unless the state/city pays for the expenses, my dogs are my dogs!! Don’t like it, not my problem!!
What if a person rescues and then finds other homes for the dogs?
So glad I don’t have neighbors!
I think the city has the right to out limits. I don’t think you can properly care for a dog & give him a good home when you have that many & it was obviously a nuisances since the neighbors complaining is what made the authorities look into it. A dog deserves than that & with that many dogs they were probably not getting the ,love, attention, or care they deserve.
Well, if the city loses enough folks like her then perhaps some investors will actually move here and open up some businesses. Folks don’t open up new factories in places they are ashamed to live. You know places where folks have 500 pit bulls in a small neighborhood on the east end. Places where folks are upset that they can’t have a pig farm in city limits. Places where students damage schools in honor of graduation. Companies don’t move to these places. They move from them. Places that think it is the early part of the last century when it concerns buying a beer. They move to places where there is modern trash, sewer, roads, and folks don’t need to be told to not live like wild animals in order to behave.
monticello has become a communist town.need to move to russia.
hmm ordinance 494, so some idiot before this was passed thought we needed 493 other ways to let the city get into people’s lives. “That government is best that governs least” I recall one of the founders writing. Makes me regret buying in city limits, and if God provides the opportunity and means I will rectify that error.
I know those peoples, the bulldog chase me down, and it would of been bad if there was not a pickup there to get into. 13 bulldogs was not feed, I think Monticello is right.
is this only for city or the whole county? our neighbor has an easy 20 dogs and 3 horses in her yard. smell is awful, can’t even have a peaceful walk down the road. when you do take a walk you wonder if her dogs are going to be chained up or will you be attacked by walking down the road. chains are always tangled up where they can not reach their food and water. half the time they don’t have shelter to get out of the weather. she may be a animal lover, but this is too much.
